H.R. 3384

H.R. 3384 - Student Loan Interest Full Deductibility Act

Amends the Internal Revenue Code to repeal the limitations on the maximum amount of the deduction of interest on education loans.

It looks like this bill would also strike the Revenue Code section that limits the deduction based on modified gross income.

Oh do I hope this one passes! This ridiculousness has been the ultimate addition of insult to injury! I'm locked in at the 8.25% cap on $125,000 with federal program (plus $60,000 non-consolidatable w/ even high interest privately) and and can't deduct a cent of the interet....I'm only posting this so that others in this situation don't feel so alone. I'm now well adjusted to this fact of life and living anyway.

Amen! My student loan interest was almost as much as my mortgage interest last year, and not a cent is deductible. Can you start a petition for this one?
